Charles M. Williams
Charlie M. Williams is Co-Chief Executive Officer and founding member of CertusBank, N.A. and its parent company, CertusHoldings, Inc. Operating 35 branches across the Carolinas, Florida and Georgia, CertusBank currently employs more than 700 teammates.
Mr. Williams is responsible for providing strategic direction to grow the $1.9 billion organization organically and through acquisition. He provides direct oversight to the Wealth Management, Investment Management, Capital Markets, Technology Infrastructure and Business Process and Reporting functions of the bank. From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Williams was Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer for the company.
Prior to founding CertusBank, he served as an executive with Bank of America. Mr. Williams is the former Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank (GCIB) of Bank of America. In this role, Mr. Williams managed investment bank global infrastructure including $1 Billion in strategic investments for over 40 companies, central funding, operational risk, capital management and reporting, information research, operations, off-shoring, financial reporting and business risk controls. He also served as the former Chairman and president of Bank of America Overseas Corporation and Bank of America International Finance Corporation.
Mr. Williams is a Board member of CertusBank, N.A., its parent, CertusHoldings, Inc., and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Williams serves on the Board of Advisors of The Male Leadership Academy of Charlotte, and the Board of Visitors at Charlotte Latin School. Mr. Williams formerly served on Board of Trustees of Marquette University and the Board of Directors of 2XSALT, an organization dedicated to coaching and mentoring inner city youth.
Mr. Williams holds a B.A. Degree in Economics from Marquette University. He also maintains his series 7, 8, 12, 24 and 63 licenses, and was a NYSE Allied Member.
